
Let’s talk about 220V 1500W Carbon Fiber Infrared Tubes
If you’re dealing with heavy thermal loads and you can’t afford to sit around waiting for things to warm up, these tubes are for you. Most people are used to standard quartz heaters with those metal coils inside. We did things differently here. We swapped the coil for a carbon fiber filament. It changes the whole vibe of how the heat hits your target, pushing more energy into that medium-to-short wave spectrum. The power side of things At 1500W and 220V, these things punch way above their weight. You get a heat flux that actually digs into materials. We built these for the “I need it hot right now” kind of projects—think seconds, not minutes. Plus, since 220V is pretty standard for industrial setups, you can usually just wire them in. No need to mess around with bulky, expensive step-down transformers. What’s happening inside the tube We wrap that carbon filament in high-purity quartz. Here is the cool part: carbon fiber can take a much higher beating from the heat than the old nickel-chrome wires. Because it can handle the heat, we can pack more infrared energy into every single millimeter of the tube. You’ll notice the ramp-up is basically instant. There’s no annoying lag. We also put a reinforced seal on the electrodes to keep gases out, which means your filament won’t just burn out and leave you hanging. Real-world use (and a few warnings) You’ll see these all over the place in PET bottle blowing, plastic welding, and drying lines. They take up way less space than ceramic heaters but hit much harder. But look, a word of caution. 1500W is a lot of heat in a small area. It puts a ton of stress on whatever you’re mounting it in. If your reflectors are slightly off or your cooling fans are a bit weak, you’re going to warp your mounting brackets. It’s a mess. Also, make sure your PID controllers are dialed in for fast-acting loads, or you’ll overshoot your temperature and end up with ruined parts.
