Power, Voltage, and Geometry—Kept Real
These lamps are made for tight spots, but they don’t skimp on output. A typical unit runs at 400V and 2500W, pulling enough current to create serious infrared intensity. The 300mm tube length focuses that heat into a defined zone, so you can use a smaller reflector and keep the whole setup compact. That concentration is great for spot heating. But it also means your machine’s thermal management has to be on point. Heat builds up around the area, and you need to plan for it.
The Materials That Make It Work
The carbon fiber element is the secret to the speed. It has low thermal mass, so it heats up quickly and keeps its resistance stable, even after repeated cycles. In practice, that means consistent performance shift after shift. The quartz envelope handles the high temperatures and gives you strong transmission in the shortwave infrared band. Inside, the halogen fill gas protects the filament, so the lamp can handle continuous duty without burning out early. And the R7s base? Practical choice. It gives you solid electrical contact and secure mechanical retention, and it makes the lamp a straightforward drop-in replacement in many standard fixtures.
