
Let’s Talk About Our 300mm Carbon Fiber Heating Elements
If you’ve ever dealt with quartz tubes, you know the drill—they work great until someone looks at them the wrong way and they shatter. We built our 300mm carbon fiber tubes to fix that. You get the same rapid heat, but without the constant fear of everything breaking. Inside, there’s a carbon fiber filament tucked into a protective sleeve. It’s designed to hit those high temperatures and push out a specific infrared spectrum that just works. Size and Power At 300mm, these things are compact. It’s a big plus if you’re trying to cram a lot of heating power into a small space. But here is the catch: you have to get your power supply right. The carbon filament is powerful, but it’s sensitive to voltage. If you push too much juice through it, you’ll fry the filament pretty quickly. Just match your resistance and you’re golden. The Science Bit (Simplified) Carbon fiber does more than just stay strong. It handles heat differently than metal. The best part? It hits operating temperature almost instantly. No waiting around. We wrap the fiber in a high-grade sheath so it doesn’t oxidize or get damaged if things get bumpy in the shop. It can take a beating way better than glass can. Just be careful with how you mount them—give them a little room to breathe so they don’t crack when they expand from the heat. Getting Them to Work Wiring them up is the easy part. The tricky part is the heat. Because these 300mm tubes put out so much concentrated energy, you can’t just stick them in a closed box. You need airflow. If the air around the tube stays still, the ends can overheat, and that’s how you kill your connections. You’ll usually see these in PET blowing or shrink-wrapping lines—basically anywhere where every second counts. If you’re still running old halogen systems and your controller can handle the load, these are a great swap. Just make sure the fit is tight. You want that heat hitting your workpiece evenly, not leaking out the sides.
