What’s Inside
At the heart of it is a carbon fiber heating element, tucked inside a quartz envelope with a halogen gas fill. This setup is what gives the lamp its grit. It can take the extreme heat, and it shrugs off the wear and tear of repeated heating and cooling cycles. The shortwave infrared coating is another key detail.
