Ever deal with those annoying shortwave emitters that scorch the surface of your product before the inside even gets warm? Yeah, it’s a pain. That’s exactly why we build our clear carbon fiber far-infrared lamps. Instead of old-school metal coils, we use a carbon fiber filament tucked inside high-purity quartz. Carbon fiber just handles the heat better. It doesn’t freak out at high temperatures, and it spreads the heat evenly across the whole tube. No more weird cold spots. The Nitty-Gritty on Power Depending on the size of your machine, we can tweak the wattage and voltage to fit your space. If you need things to warm up fast, go for the high-wattage setup. Just a heads-up: make sure your wiring and power supply can actually handle that kind of draw. Some people go with high voltage to keep the amperage down. That works, but it makes the heat density jump. If you do that, double-check your cooling fans. You don’t want your lamp sockets melting because they got too hot. Why Quartz and Carbon? We use clear quartz glass because it lets the infrared rays slide right through without getting trapped. To make your life easier, we use standard R7s or SK15 connectors. You can basically just pop them into your existing setup and get back to work. Here’s the trade-off: you won’t get that “instant hit” you feel with a halogen lamp. But in exchange, you get a deep, consistent soak that reaches the core of your workpiece. It’s a slower burn, but a much better result. Where This Actually Matters You’ll see these doing the heavy lifting in PET blowing, plastic curing, and industrial drying lines. Since it’s far-infrared, you can heat the center of a part without burning the outer skin. Pro tip: hook these up to a PID controller if you want total control over your temperature ramps. One last thing—keep the glass clean. If you’re working in a place with lots of dust or oil, wipe those tubes down. Any gunk buildup creates hot spots, and that’s the fastest way to kill a lamp.
